Stackhouse has quickly become my go-to spot, and for good reason: their steak sandwiches are phenomenal and, more importantly, incredibly affordable. In a world where a decent steak sandwich can easily set you back a small fortune, Stackhouse is a breath of fresh air. Let's talk about the steak. It's not a fancy, melt-in-your-mouth cut, but it's prepared well. Usually nicely seasoned, cooked to a satisfying medium (at least in my experience), and sliced thin enough to make it manageable in sandwich form. They don't skimp on it either – you get a generous portion that leaves you feeling full and satisfied.

Saw this place on social media and wanted to try it out. Had a day off so was able to make my way there. It’s located at the former Helka Cafe spot on Davie if you’re wondering where it is. Ordered a Caesar Salad and Stackhouse Steak Sandwich. The Caesar Salad was tasty. Well tossed with the dressing and plenty of croutons and Parmesan cheese. Warning for some; they garnish with anchovy fillets so if you’re not a fan of them, here’s your warning about them. We know you’re not going here for the Caesar salad though. Onto the main event. The Stackhouse Steak Sandwich was really quite tasty. The steak was cooked medium rare but leaned rare. I heard a few people order the steak medium so I guess that’s a common theme but I like rare steak so I had no problem with it. Cut against the grain so don’t have to worry about biting through the meat. You get plenty of steak as well. The chimichuri was vibrant and full of flavour. The bread was soft in the middle and crusty on the outside, perfect for the sandwich. Including a drink, tax, and tip runs you under 30. Take that as you will if you think it’s too much or too little. Cheers.

Stackhouse Steak Sandwich just opened up in the Davie Village Neighbourhood this month and we wanted to try it. It did not disappoint. The price points are great and the food was delicious. They offer a focused menu of the common offerings of a traditional steakhouse, but in a sandwich. We got the Steak Sandwich and Tartare sandwich which both came with a side of krinkle cut chips. The classic Caesar salad came with an anchovy on top. The French onion soup was perfect. To top it all off, we got a cherry cheesecake. YUM! Their staff was very friendly. They have a good amount of seating for dine in and also offer takeout. We went around lunchtime so it was busy! We’ll definitely go back!

Discovered this little gem on my way to friend yesterday and it was the first day it was opened. Had to go and try it today! I am very happy with my sandwich really. I got the flank steak and everything worked really well together. My sandwich had a decent amount of steak that was juicy and cooked to medium. The chimichury was well balanced, and hit the right spot for that acidity that the steak needs. For 12, this steak sandwich is perfect whenever I crave steak. It is tasty, affordable, it saves me from pan searing a steak in my apt and having that steak smell lingering. Eric the owner and chef is friendly and knowledgeable. I feel a place like this was missing from Davie.

This place is a hidden gem just behind St. Paul’s Hospital. I truly want to share this amazing food experience with everyone. Everything was absolutely delicious. The French onion soup was a perfect 10/10. The steak sandwich? Also a solid 10/10. The attention to detail in each dish was so satisfying. I highly recommend the anchovy pasta and the potato chips with truffle sauce – both were incredible. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

It seemed like a new restaurant, and since it was raining, I decided to give it a try. It was an excellent decision. The Tartare open sandwich was delicious, not to mention the meat, and the sauce was also perfect. The house-made Caesar dressing was also harmonious. I'm usually not a fan of onion soup, but since it was raining, I ordered it to eat warm, and I completely fell in love with it! The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Highly recommend it for a quick and tasty lunch!

I saw Stackhouse on social media and decided to make a lunch trip there and it was absolutely worth it! The steak in my sandwich was incredibly tender, and it paired perfectly with the vibrant chimichurri sauce. The bread was also soft, fluffy with a nice chew to it. They also give you some chips on the side! It's clear that this small business puts a lot of heart into honing their craft, and it truly shows in the quality of their food. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the sandwich and can't wait to make another lunch trip there as the weather gets sunnier. If you're looking for a delicious meal with a personal touch, I highly recommend checking them out!

Small sandwich shop on Davie with limited seating! Serving mainly two kinds of beef sandwiches. The steak sandwich was very simple,,, just a bun and loads of juicy beef slices with chimichurri sauce....so Delicious! The beef was lean but juicy and tender. Also liked the bun being crunchy and not too soft. Think was a baguette. The other tartare one was equally good, I was told, though did not try myself. (Too raw for me!) Good size and pricing...highly recommended!
